Terms of Service

Last updated: 17 May 2026

1. The service

Zyfy provides a UK data enrichment API ("the Service"). By registering an account you agree to these terms. The Service is operated by a sole trader based in the United Kingdom.

2. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service to:

  • Scrape, harvest, or systematically extract data beyond your legitimate use case.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, reproduce, or redistribute the compiled signal outputs as a standalone data product.
  • Circumvent or attempt to circumvent rate limits or quota enforcement.
  • Resell or sublicense API access to third parties without prior written agreement.
  • Submit data you are not authorised to process.
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law, including data protection law.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms without prior notice.

3. Quota and billing

  • Quota is enforced with a 10% grace zone above your plan limit. Once that grace zone is exhausted, requests return HTTP 429 until your quota resets.
  • We reserve the right to apply a hard limit without notice on accounts that persistently operate in the grace zone.
  • There is no overage billing. You will not be charged for requests beyond your plan limit.
  • Paid subscriptions are managed via Stripe. You may cancel at any time. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to registered users.

4. Service availability

We aim for high availability but make no formal uptime commitment. The Service is provided on a best-effort basis. We may take the Service offline for maintenance, and will give reasonable notice where possible.

5. API results

Signals and derived outputs returned by the API — including scores, risk levels, classifications, and recommendations — are informational. They are computed from third-party authoritative data sources and are provided without warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose. Decisions made on the basis of these outputs are entirely your responsibility. We do not guarantee that any result is correct, current, or suitable for your use case.

6. Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for indirect, consequential, or incidental loss arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid in the three months preceding the claim.

7. Account termination

You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard settings. Your API key is invalidated immediately on deletion. Billing records are retained as required by HMRC. We may terminate accounts that breach these terms or that have been inactive for an extended period, with notice where practicable.

8. Data processing

Where your use of the Service involves the processing of personal data relating to your end users, you are the data controller and Zyfy acts as a data processor for that processing. We process such data only as instructed — that is, to perform the enrichment you request — and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

If you require a formal Data Processing Agreement, contact us.

9. Intellectual property

The data underlying the Service is sourced from open government licences and other public sources. The compiled signal outputs, scoring logic, and API response structure are the property of Zyfy. You may use API responses for your own products and services; you may not redistribute them as a data product.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
